New Orleans Singles Weekend Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrive New Orleans - French Quarter
Tour
Arrive at the New Orleans airport and take the shuttle to the group's hotel. Put on your walking shoes and meet
your hostess in the lobby at 2:00pm. This afternoon we will follow in the footsteps of historic figures as we
stroll along the Mighty Mississippi, through the French Market and Jackson Square, and down the quaint streets
named for past saints and sinners. Learn about the Creoles that founded the city in 1718. See the old Quarter come
to life as our guide explains its secrets the architecture, courtyards, gardens, food, music, and art.
Tonight enjoy our Welcome Dinner at a Jazz Restaurant
Day 2: City Tour - Steamboat Cruise
Absorb the sights & sounds of the French Quarter
and historic Jackson Square. Then travel to the Ninth Ward, one of many New Orleans neighborhoods devastated
by flooding. Pass the house of the legendary rock and roll pianist "Fats" Domino.
Visit one of New Orleans's historic cemeteries, referred to as "Cities of
the Dead," and learn about this unique above ground burial system. Marvel at stories of voodoo and Jean Lafitte and his band of pirates. View the longest
bridge over water in the world. Follow the path of the St. Charles
Avenue streetcar, the oldest continuously operating passenger railway system in the world (until Hurricane
Katrina). See the homes of former Kings & Queens of Mardi
Gras, stately mansions and the world-famous, exclusive Garden District.
Next we board the historic Steamboat Natchez
for a cruise on the Mississippi River. Enjoy a Creole buffet
lunch and Steam Calliope Concert onboard. Our two hour cruise will take us back to a time when cotton was king
and life was as slow and graceful as the current on the Mississippi River. Tour the historic Steam Engine Room and learn how steam powers the engines
work.
Ghosts & Spirits Night Tour - 7:00pm (Optional
$22) - New Orleans has been referred to as "The most haunted city in America." After this tour, you be
the judge! Visit several haunted sites and hear about the stories
featured on TV. Hear the story of Pere' Dagobert vs. "Bloody"
O'Reilly. Will you see any of the ghosts that inhabit the famous
Bourbon Orleans Hotel - formerly a theater, ballroom, orphanage and convent? We don't promise you will see a ghost, but we will show you where you're most likely to
meet one!
Day 3: Swamp Tour - Free Afternoon
This morning we will take a fascinating boat trip
into the Louisiana Swamps & Bayous. Experience the
timeless beauty of South Louisiana in a custom built swamp boat through as we ride through part of the Jean
Lafitte National Historical Park - Barataria Preserve. Native guides will reveal to us the mysteries of the
swamps and bayous and the Cajun "joie de vivre". We will observe the nesting grounds of alligators, egrets,
raccoons, nutria, and many species of snakes.
Afternoon free to explore Bourbon Street and the French Quarter or take the optional tour to a Southern
Plantation.

Plantation Tour (Optional -
$55) - Experience a bygone era in one of the South's most beautiful settings-Oak Alley Plantation,
built in 1839. Marvel at the unbelievable quarter-mile long alley of
28 magnificent Oak trees, each over 250 years old.
Perhaps the most photographed plantation ever, Oak Alley has been the
setting for such motion pictures as "Interview with a Vampire", "Primary Colors" and the wedding of Bo and Hope
from the daytime soap opera, "Days of our Lives". Our guided tour
will reveal the fascinating stories of the home and its history.
Day 4: World War II Museum - Depart New Orleans
We visit the World War II Museum this morning. The museum's atrium has aircraft and other items
suspended from the ceiling. The building is several stories high and is filled with displays, artifacts, taped
testimonials and hundreds of pictures depicting the road to war, the preparation for battle, D-Day and Hitler's
defeat.
At noon the New Orleans singles weekend comes to an end. It is time to say goodbye to all your travel friends and
transfer to the airport for your flights home.
