Day 1 - Dec 26- San Jose
Our singles trip begins as you arrive in San Jose and are met at the Juan Santamaria airport and transferred to our hotel.  Our welcome dinner is at El Patio del Balmoral, just a few blocks from your hotel. Overnight at Sleeps Inn

Day 2 -Dec 27 - San Jose - Arenal:  Poas Volcano & La Paz Waterfall GardensWaterfall

Travel past coffee and sugar plantations in order to reach the stunning Poas Volcano. Walk to the rim of the 1 mile in diameter, active crater. From the edge of the crater, we should be able to see its beautiful iridescent green color. You will then have the opportunity to explore the Waterfall Gardens. This really is a unique experience that you may never see anywhere else again. Here you will see five magnificent waterfalls, including Costa Rica’s famous, “La Paz”. You will also walk around the worlds largest enclosed butterfly observatory, 2.4 miles of paved trails with viewing platforms, hummingbird gardens. There is also a restaurant, with many stunning views to admire. You bilingual guide and driver will walk you through the park, pointing out things of interest, and then return you back to our hotel.

Day 3 - Dec 28 - Arenal:  Sky Adventures &  The Springs

ZipliningThe Sky Tram starts in the reception and reaches a wide observation deck at the highest point of the Arenal Reserve. From that vantage point, we can observe the rain forest, Arenal Volcano, and Arenal Lake. The journey in Sky Tram takes around 20 minutes with possible short stops supplemented with information from a naturalist guide. Once we have reached the observation deck, you can enjoy a walk along one of the trails.

Sky Trek is a canopy zip-line tour which starts at the top of the Arenal reserve. Sky Trek is full of adventure and full of adrenaline as you fly above the treetops. The tour consists of a system of zip lines, that allows you to observe the rainforest and its landscape from a different perspective. Get a bird's eye view of the rainforest on a safe and innovative system of cables. The tour includes 8 cross-sectional cables that together have a total length of 1.7 miles with distances from 100 to 2460 feet, and with a maximum height of 660 feet. The height of the cables exceeds the treetops, providing you a panoramic view of the Arenal Volcano and Arenal Lake.

After a long day soak in the hot mineral springs at The Springs. Perdido Springs is a connected system of trails and seven spring fed pools located within a forest canyon. The pools range in temperature from 76°F to 98°F. Enjoy dinner at The Springs

Day 4 - Dec 29:   Arenal - TamarindoDiria Hotel

After breakfast we drive to our beautiful hotel in Tamarindo, a beautiful beach town that is equally a tropical paradise as well as a multicultural hotspot. Called by Forbes magazine Costa Rica’s most popular beach, the town has a mixture of high-end shopping, dining, night life opportunities combined with Costa Rican flavor.  When Robert August filmed a segment about Tamarindo in his Endless Summer II movie, Tamarindo became internationally famous for its surfing. The blue Pacific also offers itself to sports fishermen, sailors, scuba divers, and snorkelers, while Tamarindo affords tourists a wide variety of tour options including horse riding, ATV tours, canopy tours, and more. Tamarindo Beach is located next to Tamarindo National Wildlife Refuge and Las Baulas National Park, which encompasses Playa Grande. That is where the Leatherback Turtles nest each year and daily tours are available in season. A daily walk will allow you to see Howler Monkeys, Iguanas, Parrots, and various wild life at your every step.

From the minute you pass through the Tamarindo Diria Beach & Golf Resort, you will have a wonderful vacation. Relax to sounds of the ocean on the beach or by the pool or listen to nature from your room as you wind down to a slower pace.

Day 5 - 7 - Dec 30 - Jan 2:  TamarindoDiria Hotel Pool

The scenic pool is the biggest in Tamarindo, providing an exclusive luxury atmosphere. It’s curved rounded shape blends beautifully amongst the surrounding tropical gardens and pre-Columbian sculptures.

With the gentle touch of the tropical breeze and the undulating movement of water, you will certainly enjoy unforgettable moments at the Tamarindo Diria Beach & Golf Resort centerpiece pools. The pool areas are abundant in lounge chairs for tanning and yet covered in plenty of shade from palm trees for those who prefer to limit their sun but wish to enjoy the relaxing setting. In addition, the temperature is always mild in the pools, while the water quality is Beachconstantly checked by the Tamarindo Diria’s modern water treatment facility.

The beaches in Guanacaste are the best places for snorkeling in Costa Rica especially since they feature a wide variety of coral reefs and marine life. The snorkel guides, most of whom are natives from this region, know the perfect locations to take clients for spectacular views. Underneath the sea, in a 3-hour optional excursion in such places as Rabbit Cove, Carbon Beach and Playa Conchal, one can see Porcupinefish, Puffers, Triggerfish, Stingray, Giant Manta Ray, Spotted Eagle Ray, Lesser Devil Ray, Moray, Reef Cornetfish, Jack, Rainbow Runner, Snapper, Damselfish, Wrasse, Chameleon, Dragon, Porkfish, Spottail Grunt, Leather Bass, Scorpionfish, Hawkfish, Sergeant Major, Nightsergeant, Cardinalfish, Redlight Goby, Hogfish, Soldierfish, Parrotfish, Angelfish, Butterflyfish, Barberfish, Idol, Boxfish, among many others.

Costa Rica is fast becoming a premier golf destination with Guanacaste leading the way. Nearby the resort are two world-class golf courses that are offered to guests at special rates.  "A shout out to travelers from San Jose, Costa Rica! We're winding down and getting ready to go home tomorrow :( This has been the adventure of a lifetime! I've done so many things I never thought I'd find myself doing! Our guide far exceeded any expectations we had. She has a genuine admiration for her country which showed in every description and explanation she offered! I will miss being woken by Howler monkeys in the rainforest the most! Thank you for this experience!"

I was part of the group from Best Single Travel's for which Nancy Madrigal was the guide.  I was sorry that you weren't able to attend the farewell dinner that was held on 19th, as I was hoping to personally thank you for making all of the arrangements that our entire group enjoyed.  What a wonderful week we all shared!  Thank you for arranging it all on our behalf.  I was also hoping to share with you how fortunate I felt to have Nancy as a guide...Nancy was so positive, outgoing, friendly, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable about anything and everything regarding Costa Rica!

I had a fantastic vacation in CR and credit Nancy as playing a big role in that...I wanted to be sure to let you know what gem... having Nancy Madrigal as a tour guide with your company!

Thanks again! (Sarah F)
